The weekend edition of the Wall Street Journal has a feature story on Michael Saylor and his “Wild Bitcoin Bet That’s Making One Man Billions.”
Written by staff writer Gregory Zuckerman, the article provides a very good overview of Saylor’s entire business career, starting with the founding of MicroStrategy, a business intelligence software company, in the late 1990s and then tracing the ups and downs of the company during the dotcom bubble and, more recently, during the pandemic and crypto crash after FTX’s implosion.
But, now, MicroStrategy, through Saylor’s “wild bet” in buying Bitcoin and monetizing it through the sale of shares of the company, appears to be paying off.
