On that day, Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized that no one can ban Bitcoin: “”For example, bitcoin, who can prohibit it? No one.” According to Reuters, Putin, speaking at the VTB Investment Forum in Moscow, “said the current U.S. administration was undermining the role of the U.S dollar as the reserve currency in the global economy by using it for political purposes, forcing many countries to turn to alternative assets, including cryptocurrencies.”
Meanwhile, across the globe, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, at the NYT Dealbook Summit, likened Bitcoin to gold, only virtual:
Then, later that night, Bitcoin broke the $100,000 wall for the first time ever, after 15 years.
